Capacity
Up to 650 megawatts of wind energy combined with battery energy storage (BESS)
Status
In Development
Location
Willowvale, Sturt Highway, NSW
Outline

Project Overview

The Wilan Energy Park is located in the NSW Riverina approximately 35km east of Balranald and 90km west of Hay.

The project site is in the South West Renewable Energy Zone, an area with strong wind resources and very low population density being located across 20,000 Ha of pastoral lands.

Wind measurements demonstrate complementarity with the broader energy mix being developed in NSW and particularly with solar energy. The southern boundary of the site is adjacent to the Sturt Highway and 8km to the north of the new 330kV Energy Connect transmission line.
